Ellis Austill passed away Monday, December 8, 2008. We miss him.

Today we skipped church to go to the circus in Salt Lake City, our son Darren got tickets because he led the animal parade with the SLPD motor cycle div. So we skipped and had some fun with the grand kids. It's always a delight to watch kids as they see things like the animals and performers do there routines. there is nothing more pleasing to me than that. Catch the pics.



I guess I can blame my son for tempting me, but then that would mean I didn't teach him very well so I will just admit a moment of weakness.

What GrandParents Do

When we were younger and had 5 kids running around, our summers were hectic. Elaine page catcher on a city league woman's team, Jeff and Darren played little league, the three girls played church softball and city league. Our Saturdays consisted of running from game to game to watch all of them play, and in order to support all sometimes we had to split up so that one of us was at each kids game.

Now we are grandparents it hasn't changed much, as an example last Tuesday we drove to Lehi to watch Britton play in his football game. He plays end and really enjoys it. Here are some Pics to show what he does.



After his football game we had to run to Provo to catch the end of Bryson's last soccer game of the year. We have seen almost all of his games this year and have loved watching him improve game after game. Pics follow.



This summer we have also seen Malorie in her first horse show where she garnered some well deserved ribbons for her efforts.



So it has been event full and wonderful to be with and see each grandchild progress and grow.

We love our family. I saw a bumper sticker a couple of years ago that I thought was appropriate. It said, Grandchildren are God's gift, for not Killing your children. Of course we never thought of doing anything like that but it was fun to read.

All's well that "ENDS" Well

Ok, I had my surgery follow up visit today. The doctor said I looked perfect.. Ask Elaine If you don't believe me. She said that all is well, there was NO SIGN of CANCER and that I should get a check up yearly to insure that all remains well.
Great news isn't it.

Again I will forgo pictures but I got some flak last time for not informing everyone so just wanted to be up "front" if you get my drift.

The Big Game

The Big Game!!
Brigham Young University played UCLA yesterday in Provo, Utah. Our son in-law Chris who works for Provo City as a police officer gets season tickets because they direct traffic for the games. Chris had to work and our daughter Allison had to watch the other 3 children so Papa HAD to sacrifice and take our grandson Bryson (Chris and Allison's oldest) to the game.

It was a nail biter from beginning to end but the two of us toughed it out and watched BYU finally win by a score of 59 to NOTHING.

This was the worst defeat for UCLA in 79 years. BYU executed very well on offense and defense, Max Hall the quarter back tied the school record for most TD's in a single game.

We did enjoy ourselves in the heat (I think it was about 110 degrees), while sipping power ade and eating peanuts. Bryson amused himself by watching some of the game through the wrong end of the binoculars just to get a better perspective.

We love BYU football.

Being involved.

Well the great thing about being a parent and grandparent is attending all of the kids activities and every grand child's activity.

Saturday we spent the day at Miller Sports Park in Tooele Utah watching our 2nd son Darren compete in his first ever motorcycle competition representing the Salt Lake City Police Motor Div.

There were 55 entrants from the western states, 9 from Salt Lake Motor Squad and a bunch from all around. Darren took 6th place and missed 5th place by 1/1000 of a second.

We are very proud of him and know he will do much better next year.

Week in review.

Well on Tuesday of this week I had two polyps removed from the "A" canal at LDS hospital. All went as expected and I am doing OK at this time. I took more days off of work than I expected to because of some physical complications. As usual I have had the best of care thanks to a live in Angel. I slept much, ate very little, took some pain pills lots of diuretics and walked with hitch.

The results of the tests on said removed items should be available on Monday so we will keep everyone informed.

My doctor is a female BS doctor. (BS=Butt specialist) While talking to the anesthesiologist prior to the surgery said doctor came up and asked if I had any questions and if I was ready. I told her I was ready and that I had not shaved that morning to help her know witch end she was to work on.
